Default Budget build for 2019 EG Standard.

Been reading the audio section for a few days and have come up with some ideas for radio in my 2019 EG Standard. I only listen to classic rock/rb from usb stick. Don't need am/fm or phone interface unless maybe pandora on phone. Let me know if I'm on the right track or... Thanks

HU - Sony DSX-M55BT
Amp - Soundstream PN4.1000D
Fairing Speakers - Infinity Kappa 62ix
Lower Fairing Speakers - Mmat PA601-cx (thanks tailwind)
Hogtunes grilles - Fairing pair and Pod pair for lowers
Ebay speaker boxes for lowers - Matte black
Waterproof cover -

Pyle cover Pyle cover

Won't need any dash kit, I can fab acrylic front plate and fit to stock glovebox. Installed car stereo for a living in the late 70's.
Won't need wiring kit, I can identify switched and full power to connect. Make up heavy pos/grd for amp to battery myself.

I may not install amp right away to see if sound is full enough for highway. I can do all this for less than $600, less than $500 without amp.

Appreciate ANY input from gurus here!! Thanks!

I think you are going to be extremely unimpressed with the sound if you don't install in amp. An amp will give you: louder, more volume, more clarity and overall better sound. Just putting speakers in without an amp is like putting cams/exhaust and heads in without dyno tuning it.

You will need that amp installed right away that’s for sure.

Hey brother! I would not even attempt this project without including an amp. With that being said, the amp u have selected is a solid budget amp but pretty damn big. Not much exposure to what's under the EG hood but have u verified that this sucker will fit?

If not or if too close for comfort there are some other options to consider.

I don;t think any EG's come with radios. They're basically a stripped down version of the SG.

Same space available as Street Glide. Probably be a good idea to leave amp some room to breathe. I'm guessing 50w x 4 will be enough power? What would you suggest?

Thanks!

The EG Standard does not come with a radio. Or a passenger seat. Since my wife has NEVER ridden with me in 40 years the seat is good. Thinking I need tunes, but not going to waste a LOT of money, the phone and earbuds have been fine so far. Thanks!

Typically 125w x 4 on a sled is prob the min ur going to want to plan for on asked unless the amp is really damn efficient.

The amps & speaker relationship is kind of important so I would not fully commit to either until ur confident they play well together.

For ur initial speaker selections & budget the amp u selected is solid but won't fit on the SG OEM amp tray. I have seen guys grab the Stinger 700 for under $200 which is less than the cost of the 1000 amp and a replacement amp tray. The Stinger sets nicely on top the OEM tray. Just something to consider.

The more I look at this project, the more I want to do it right the first time. Not going to be the "budget" build I was hoping for. New combo listed below. Which means will not happen right away.

HU - Sony AX5000/7000
Amp - Mmats MD4110
Speakers - Mmats PA601cx in fairing and lowers
Bezel - Metra 95-9701 (bezel only, no wiring interface needed without hand controls)
and the grills and speaker boxes etc.

Around $1,200 all in. Assuming the amp and speakers should play well together. Not sure about pre-out voltage of 2v in the ax5000 versus 5v in the ax7000 and difference in cost of units. Higher output of ax7000 won't matter if running amp, so only gaining factory anti-glare and pre-out voltage? Don't know if that's worth $150?

Let me know if I'm off the rails here or getting warmer. Thanks!! Guess I'm not the only one second guessing in the audio forum? Lol

I think 1200 is a little conservative. 7000 is supposed to be 500 alone. The 2 pair of 601 cx 400. Amp around 300. Thats 1200 without the other items.
