I’ll definitely consider going. I’m rolling out to sturgis tomorrow and when I get back I have a whole pile of stuff to install so I’m not sure I’ll be ready for it.

What other features this have over the 5000? I currently have the 5K and am thinking about throwing this in if it has some better advantages, also wonder if it would plug right into my current wiring and control the amp, Bar controls ect??

if anyone knows that would be great

So only some extra power? Was hoping for screen brightness control, custom background ect..guess ill save the cash and run with the 5000

Thought I read someone say that it had better water resistance as well.

I just tan thru a torrential downpour last week in Sundance WY during the Rally with no problem, bike was outside overnight for 2 rain storms no problem unit didnt skip a beat so i guess unless its waterproof ill stay with what i got considering there are not any real improvments. Just my opinion

You probably read the very first post that started this thread.

I have not been able to find any other mention of it being water resistant anywhere online. I'm not saying it isn't water resistant but if it is it's a well kept secret.

The 5000 is apparently somewhat water resistant so is that what Lucky 7 is writing about?

I've also seen some posts here i think from ppl that had water issues with the 5000. Thats one reason I stayed with my stock HU.

Maybe the 9000 will be more to your liking.

Looking forward to this unit! I think I heard somewhere the water resistance claim had something to do with the outside buttons having a sealed membrane over them?
