Default Sinister sound

Hey guys I have a Sony xav 5000 head unit and want to upgrade my SG fairing speakers with amp. A friend mentioned I should look into sinister systems, are these better than fosgate? Is there better out there, I’d like to stay around the $800 price point.

I guess I will be the first 1. There is a lot more out there to be had for the Sinister price. All these "Plug and Play" systems are not really plug and play. If you can install their system you can build and install a system and save money.

I would say it is probably at the top of the pecking order for a Plug and Play system.

But, again you can get a lot more for less money. Do your homework and read some threads here so you know what you are buying.

The Plug and Play system are more gimmick and impulse purchases at a bike week. Just my opinion and I am sure other will chime in.

Sinister sounds set up is decent, it sounds good but for the price they want I feel you can do a lot better. MMATS 601cx are gaining a lot of popularity they’re a great speaker, the stinger 700 amp or the MMATS 4110 amp both great 4 channel amps that will let you expand in the future if you want to add more speakers. And an amp wiring kit.

MMATs 601cx $190-230
stinger 700 amp I believe runs between $350-375
mmats 4110 amp is $260-280
amp wiring kit $60

you can do just as much of not more for cheaper than sinister

I am running the Sony AX5000 too. I am also running the MMats amp and 4 of the MMats speakers that IArider1 mentioned. But I did run just the fronts for a bit while I was waiting for the second set to come in. I was quite happy with that set up. But... I am happier with all four of them. 😀

Awesome this is why I love the forum, I have read through some of the posts and get mixed up with what I should do. I will look into mmats now. I am not super concerned with plug and play I am not wanting to cut into wiring harnesses. I like quality for less too

If ur convinced that ur gonna stay with only the fairing speakers u can get that price way low. Something like the NVX VADM4 bridged.

Also consider the DB Drive MDX 6 or the new ARC Moto 602HD. Or...........?

But I do recommend getting a solid 4 channel if there is even a slight chance u might add speakers in the future.

So I am looking at the mmats 601cx for right now I only am doing fender I may expand later. I read the sticky and I see the ohms part can’t mix 2–4 etc. how ever these speakers are asking 4 or 8 ohms is there a best choice?
