Default Audio Rookie

Picked up a 2019 Street Glide Special a couple weeks ago and I’m pretty much a rookie when it comes to audio outside of replacing head units and speakers in cars and trucks which pretty much anyone can do. Next weekend I’m going to start upgrading the audio on my bike, not an audiophile by any means so I think (hope) an Amp and the 2 fairing speakers will be plenty for me. So far I’ve purchased the following

Cerwin Vega B52 Amp
Hertz CPX 165 Pro 6.5’s
BT355 Line Leveler
Kustom Cycle Parts amp mount and wiring kit
5.25-6.5 Speaker Adapters off Amazon

Is there anything else I will need when I tackle this? Did I buy something I shouldn’t have or didn’t need? Any tips for the install? I’ve read the audio sticky’s and will take on tuning the amp after everything’s installed.

You wont need the speaker adapters, After 2014 they come with 6.5's. You will need power and ground wire to run to the battery, a fuse holder, low level RCA pig tails.

You don't need an amp mount, or speaker adapters. Buy the scosche wiring kit, and 1.5 ft Stinger rca cables.

Make sure you buy an amp wire harness kit with a 6' ground wire. A lot of the wire kits only have 3' ground wires and you need one that goes back to the battery like this one:

Amazon Amazon

Also as others have said, no adaptors or amp tray will be needed.

I bought this same kit on Amazon. The one thing it needs is the smaller spade connectors but that is not a big deal. Everything is very nice in this kit and $30 for a complete kit... hard to beat that.

I hate to say it, but it's never enough. You are risking getting bit by the bug, brother. And I am still at the bottom trying stuff...

Luckily there is some great advice here.

I’m thinking about installing my Amp and speakers tonight just want to make sure I have EVERYTHING before I start. So currently I have

Cerwin Vega B52 Amp
Hertz CPX 165 Pro 6.5 Speakers
BT355 Line Leveler
Scochse 8awg Moto Amp Power Kit as mentioned above
1.5 ft RCA Cables

is there anything else I need before I get started? I’ve read about a fairing power extension harness do I need this?
