Not sure when I will get around to installing a amp. I thought these would at least be as good as the stockers as a drop in. Not. I will post up when I get a amp installed. I do have a BT355.

The line leveler and a amp will make a world of difference.

Did you use a amp mount plate? If so, which one?

You should not need an amp mount. For the SG it will go on top of the radio and on the RG you can put it on top of the headlight.

I'm gonna bet a 12 pack that this is all by design. HD is damn good at making shix proprietary thus just grabbing a set of after market speakers just isn't gonna work. Kind of why about 99% of the Rushmore threads on here include the discussion of amps & BT355s, or DSPs, or a new head unit or aggressive flash strategies or???

Start saving and do ur upgrades via proven pathways.

Looks like they might have discontinued that one and updated it to this.

Agreed with other, properly powered, these sound pretty darn good. In my case, I had them in lowers, along with Kappa 6x9 in my lids, powered off a NVX 5 channel amp. Sounded pretty good for what it was. WAY better than my buddy's Boom Stage 6 with regard to clarity and midbass. Hopefully adding power and remounting them as suggested will help you out.
