Would someone please help this dude?
Have a 17 road glide want to keep the stock head (for now) looking for the most plug and play system. Two water proof fairing speakers, two water proof lowers an amp 800+ amps that will fit in fairing. Do I need to get the DSR-1 don't want to keep flashing unit. I am getting dizzy reading all this info not too fluent with stereo systems. Doing round Lake Superior and need nice loud but clear tunes also want to keep FM and I play mostly XM is this possible? Maybe later down the road I will change out head and add rear pods.
Thanks for all replies I know there are some very knowledgeable people here
P.S. this is my last bike haven't changed pics yet

As you well know, there are a plethora of speakers out there and a million opinions on what is best. On each end of the scale, you will find some really good speakers. What is your budget?
You will want a fuller sounding speaker set up in your fairing and a PA speaker in your lowers. PA speakers in your lowers will provide you the volume at highway speeds. There are plenty to chose from. As for the fairing, would you want to do components or Coax? Coax is a bit easier of a set up since the tweeter is part of the speaker and you wont have to figure out how to mount the tweeter, but, some say the sound is not quite as distinctive as a Component set up. With that said, there are some really good Coax out there. The latest craze is the MMats 601cx on the one end of the scale and the Beyma 6cx200nd.
Look them up in a search and you can read the reviews.

Do you think Rockford 400 would be good enough? I didn't think it would be how bout the speakers I was reading about Polk as well. Would never consider Boom thats a waste. Also do not want to flash my radio thinking about the DSR-1 yes/no?
Thanks
Thanks
