I am thinking about adding the audio upgrade that is in the link.

I spoke to Derek and he quoted me $1145 out the door. Parts , labor, reflash, complete installation.

Thoughts?

You can get a lot more for 1100 bucks. Use all that $ on equipment and install it yourself. $276 to install is a pretty good pair of speakers.
If it were me I would definitely not do that. Get some better input from the guys on this site and DIY.

You might shop around. A local car stereo store in my area has this kit and offered it for $750. Installation honestly isn't that difficult. Save $119 on the kit, $276 on the install. You would need the flash after you were done with the install. My local store said $50 for that. $345 savings if you DYI.

 

I agree. The video clip makes it look easy. Probably a 5-6 hour job for Harry Homeowner with adequate tools.
Do you have a link to the place that sells the kit for $750?
I haven't seen the Rockford Fosgate kit sold for less than $869 on Amazon, EBay, and the vendors who advertise on the forum.

I went in and asked about the kit. They had it in stock. Quoted me $750 when I asked how much. Also said he'd do the kit with install and flash for 1k.

If you can DIY you could definitely get much better componets for the money. If you don't want to DIY I believe you are not far from Bagger Boyz in Fort Washington. I think they have a good reputation.
