Stric,
Everyone is running them this way so you get a 4 ohm load and the most out of your amps.

I have mine running bridged off a 1200.4 ch1-2. 300 watts each no issues, impedance will change through out. but if you put a ohm meter on them they will come out to 8 +/- .2 ohms each. Send them some power. if you like them now wait till you hear them with some more power.

That's awesome news. I was just a little hesitant about it. I appreciate the info. I bet those things scream on that SD amp. I will put some power to them this weekend. I'm sure they will come to life. Learn something everyday on here.

Keep us posted how it sounds after the change. I have mine playing in the winter build thread. I was able to get the CX in the fairing of a batwing.

Stric,
Violently agree w Juice regarding the wiring strategy for ur Beyma CX. Bridged & parallel will be an entirely different sound stage.

Using the Stinger SPX700X4 amp with Hertz HCX165's in the fairing and Hertz SV165.1's in the lowers - any advide on how I should wire them? Both sets are 4 ohms each. Should I wire them a single speaker per channel, or HCX's on channels 1 & 2 at 4ohms and the SV's bridged in parallel on channels 3&4 at 2 ohms?
Thanks

You will have to wire the speakers 1 to each channel as the Stinger amp is NOT 2 ohm stable when bridged.

Thanks Babyboy for the info. I wasn't sure about the bridging at 2 ohms issue, so much appreciated!!

The SD amp line do offer a few choices in a bridgeable 2ohm version. you loose stereo mode but will get the most power out of your amps. Down side to these amp until the new ones come out is there is a hard cut x-over at 80Hz.
