Starting to lean more toward removing the entire factory system and installing a Sony 5000 , amp and two fairing speakers for now. I'll make sure the amp can handle additional speakers in lowers down the road. Amp and speaker suggestions? No budget in mind

My Rockford front system is absolutely killer. Can get crazy loud and clear as a bell at highway speeds. Plus you can add on the rear speakers whenever you want.

If I'm spending somebody else's money I'd go with a Focal Sport Amp or a JL 600/6... just my opinion...

FYI... Rockford invests a lot of research in testing and designing their speakers around highway speeds.

Buy that Rockford kit and you'll be back here not listening to the people who know better in no time.

Yup that. The only thing Rockford has gotten right for motorcycles is the DIY lid kit. But even those speakers give up the ghost pretty easily.

trying to avoid the do-overs!! I'm thinking about the biketronics version of the Sony 5000 for the HU. Now for amp and speakers. Probably just do the fairing pair initially with lowers as a potential later add. Am i on the right path?

Absolutely a path I'd take.
