Found amp trigger wire on the HU harness. Amp is only powered up now when HU is on. Noise is gone. Thanks guys!

Jerry, I have not read the sticky in a while but the reason u set the HU volume at 3/4 with the gains all the way down to initiate the tuning process is because that is typically the max volume that the HU will deliver a clean signal to the amp and speakers. Beyond 3/4, the potential for distortion increases thus magic speaker smoke.

So turn gains all the way down, set HU volume at 3/4, increase gains slowly until u even think ur getting distortion. Then back the gains off just a touch.

3/4 HU volume is now your maximum volume level and you should NEVER exceed it.

Make sure do a final tune w the engine running as u will have higher voltage to contend with during the tuning process.

Playing around with my meter, discovered that I didn't blow a Kappa. Bad connection at the terminal screws. If I insert the probes, tighten the screws, then move the probes around, I get a circuit.

I'll wait until Monday to see if the Canadian supplier will do anything for me. If not, out comes the dremel for a little Surgery

Kappa's have a three year warranty. Not sure how old your speakers are. I just had some replaced from Crutchfield. Even got a fee upgrade because the speakers I had are no longer made.

Bought them from crutchfield.ca about a year ago. I sent them an email also, explaining what the problem is. Asked them to check their records as I no longer have the receipt.

I used the 800 number. Guy had the speakers out to me before I hung up. They can look it up while you talk. Also I believe you can see your purchases on line under "your orders" if you login. I had the 62.11's they sent me 62.iX.. Good luck
