Rockford Fosgate TM400x4ad input question
Howdy all,
I was looking at some documentation on the TM400x4ad amp and was wondering exactly how the 2 channel/4 channel mode switch works. I read that if you put it into 2 channel mode you only have to connect the front preamp inputs and it will be applied to both front and rear channels. I like this idea because I could get rid of some wiring, but I wondered about the crossover functionality.
If the switch is put into 2 channel mode do the output crossovers and gain controls still work independently of each other? I have two different settings because one set of outputs has the 6.5s in the pods and the other set has the 6x9s.

Yes they do. Also the front and rear gains are independent from each other. If you have it in 2 channel input, all four output speakers will work and you can adjust the cross overs, filters and gains independently front and rear. Thus you can bump the gains on you 6x9's more than the 6.5's and adjust the filters differently also. I ran mine that way until I got the head unit flashed for fade.

Thanks y'all I appreciate the clarification.
That will allow me to clean up some of the wiring in the bag. I already made an RCA patch cable the right length but the Y adapters are pretty bulky.
Still having to tweak the front stage a bit though. That SS PN4.1000d just massively overpowers the rear now that it is only driving four speakers. Sometime in the future I'd like to get a more FM friendly amp in the fairing and since I don't need the wattage output I used to hopefully I will have more options.
