Default 2015 - 2018 Road Glide Speaker Fitment Success and Failure

So, back in 2015 I started this thread over at my home forum, and finally figured it was time to help out here as well.

I don't know if anyone has posted something similar before but I wanted to start a thread showing the known speakers that will and/or will not fit in the 2015 - 2018 Road Glide Fairing.

Fit - Yes
Arc Moto 602 (remove the rubber ring, confirmed through Arc Audio that it's purely cosmetic) - thanks Bunker!
Beyma pro 6.5 mid drivers
Biketronics 2015 Road Glide Kit
BT465
Focal 165KRC
Focal PC165
Hertx ECX 165's (remove rubber ring on magnet) - thanks TVH475!
Hertz Millie Pro (165.3 requires tapered speaker ring spacer from BT)
Infinity Kappa 62.11i
Infinity Kappa 62.ix
JBL GTO638
JL C3 650
J&M 2015 Road Glide Kit

Fit - Yes - Requires Some Modification
DD VO 6.5's - Had to cut a hole in the side of the pod, covered the hole and the exposed magnet with dynamat
Hertz SV165's will require the same modification as the DD VO 6.5's
Hertz HCX165 - See information beginning with post #38
Focal ES165KX2 Had to cut a hole in the side of the pod, covered the hole and the exposed magnet with dynamat - thanks Uwiik!

Fit - No
American Bass 6.5 mid drivers
Cerwin-Vega V465
DS18 Pro's (I believe they were PRO-X6.4BM)
DB WDX6MOTO

If others are interested in providing your confirmed successes or failures I can create a Google Docs spreadsheet and keep it update.

Great info for the shark guys. Another question that comes up is amp fitment in them.

Unless you're going into the bags with an AMP or two, there are only two spots in the fairing. Above the headlamp or under the radio. I put up some dimensions on the other forum and I'll try to find those and post them up here.

The following AMPs are confirmed fits in either place;
CV B2
CV B52
CV B4
CV B54
Diamond Audio Micro2V2
Diamond Audio Micro4V2

Here are the AMP dimensions I measured last time I had the fairing off my 2018;

If you're going to mount under the radio the AMP can't be much bigger than;
8" L
4" W
2" H

If you're going to mount between the back of the radio and the headlight;
9" L
4" W
1 1/4 to 1 3/8" H

There you go, hope it's useful for the others. The hole and cover does not have to be as big as mine, it can be a lot smaller like 3 x 2, I chose to make bigger hole and wider cover because I want to have the extra air space behind the speaker to help it breath better.

Another Rushmore Road Glide Amp location - I have a J/L 280/4 mounted between the left (sitting on the bike) speaker pod and the radio frame, push the amp up against the back of the gauge, heavy duty Velcro on the side of the amp and radio mount with zip ties the long way holding it tight to the "wing" sticking out from the radio frame, wires facing forward it fits good and hasn't moved.
Other Amps I have had in a Rushmore Roadglide:
BT 4180 with their mount fit good under the radio - replaced it with an Arc 600.4 - it fit the long way under the radio and a couple inches onto the back of the headlight.

Just ran across this and wanted to ad what I have installed in my 16 RGS. I have had the infinity kappas in the speaker pods but currently have AD Designs CX-621's in the pods with no mods required.
As for the amp, I currently have a SD 400.4 under the radio and an MMATS MD-4100 on top of the headlight. I tried a DD 4.90 and couldn't get it to fit in either location.
I am waiting to hear about the GZ Micro 4 amp and where and how many fit under the fairing . I think Haze is working with those on his new road glide

Seeing this is now a speaker AND amp fitment thread I'll confirm the GZ Micro 4 installs very nicely. Best part is the mounting holes barely need to be opened up to line up with the bottom of the factory radio bolts. This allows you to bolt them solid to the underside of the radio. The breakout cable also has a nice exit through the radios frame.
