I've read other threads about applying Scotch Guard to the fairing speaker fabric - what about the tour pack locations?

 

You can purchase some speaker cloth and treat that with water repellent, etc..or buy a prefilter type material like frogzskin or Outerwears stuff.
Stretch it over speaker before putting grill on.

Dont know. I used Outerwears WR-12 fabric on my lowers and sprayed speaker cloth for fairing and tour pack. I plan to use more of the Outerwears stuff when i swap fairing speakers. It was like $12 for 1 square and you can just get 2 circles out of 1 piece.

not sure on frogzskin stuff.

 

Ok, I ordered speaker fabric, RCA adapters, and the speakers. Does it make sense to leave the TP wire harnesses intact and run new speaker wire from the amp vs. splicing in to the speaker leads?

 

 

Being able to return it to stock is the strategy. I'll run speaker wires along the same path as the harnesses then. Thanks!

 

Most of the stuff is here (minus the speaker grill fabric) which should be here tomorrow after work. The tank, seat, and fairing are off so I can get right to it.

Questions about the Kickers (tour pack) for any folks that have them in their Tour Packs:
It looks like the Harley grills will fit....did you use the Harley or Kicker grills? I don't like the "naked tweeter" look.
Also, I plan to take GLW Mike's advice and pre-spray the speaker fabric - do you have any pictures of the completed installation? I can't find any using the search function.
