Default Amp cuts off after running bike a short time

Installed an amp & speakers on a 2004 Roadking.
Everytthing works great while the bike is sitting, but after starting and running a short time, the amp cuts off.
Turn off the bike & turn the ignition back on (not starting the bike) & the amp comes right back
Ideas?

What amp, where did you install it, how and with what gauge wire did you connect the power? Either the amp is defective, or it’s overheating, or nothing getting enough power

Is it clipping or losing power?
