Speaker and Amp advie for FXRD
#11
The amp and the JL's are cool. The DB's might work out well enough, i've not actually heard them myself but have read here that they can get loud. Wire it up and see how you like it. If it's not enough, or you need more tuning capability, you can decide if you need the dsp or want to move to PA speakers in your lower position.

Ok so I’ve logged some miles on the set up. The JLs in the front are plenty loud especially for a 4”. The DBs are very loud as well and can be heard on the freeway no problem. They do however lack a bit in the midbass range I think. Would I benefit with swapping them out for a set of MPK 165.3s, I know they are components but I’m not opposed to that and there’s a set or two in the classifieds. Or arc 602s ? Don’t know how those two compare.
With the JLs as loud as they are and in my face the lowers I’m really just looking for more depth to balance it all out.

Hold up to the elements?
I’m doing a similar project on my RD faring and I’m curious to see how your 4 inch JL speakers have held up to the element? Everything I see about them claims they are not Really a option for outdoor use, I mean it’s not often I get stuck in the rain but I just curious since this is my daily rider.
