Default Grounding

Seems most ground the power cable neg to the battery. BT instructions have the power grounded under the fairing:
"Connect Ground Wire (4) It is good practice to keep ground wires short and try to tie amp and radio ground to the same physical location. Electraglide: Use ground screw on top triple-tree clamp. Roadglide: Use radio box stud."

Which way to go and why?

Would you rather your ground be direct or have to go through the neck bearings? The answer is an easy one if you think about it.

Heres my take on this subject. Electricity likes to follow the path of the least resistance. A continuous wire back to the source is that path.

Ground to the negative post on the battery. Why? Because it's a Motorcycle. Different animal than a car.

My current amp is wired to the battery, found it odd that Biketronics suggests otherwise. There Biketronics not Cartronics ...

I also go directly to the battery, or to the frame grounding screw that is directly in front of the battery box on the 2015 up Rushmore bikes. It's the same post that the battery has a ground lead to.

2014s should have the ground post in front of the battery as well.

I'm assuming I have a ground issue. Originally I was getting some serious engine noise so i ran a direct ground from the anp to the neg post of the battery. It helped but still not where it needed to be. Only other thing I could think of was the ground coming out of the scosche handlebar control module. Path of least resistance mentality I put an eyelet on it and connected to the neg post on the amp. Something tells me this isnt such a good idea either. Suggestions?
