This is my hobby and I try new/different speakers so I can either recommend or tell people to stay away from speakers.

I had the mpx 690.3's before I had the kit. I have since put pioneer pros, hcx 690.3, sony xs-gs 6921, polks 692's, wdx 6x9's, the rf tms 69's that come with the kit, hertz cpx 690's, and now im trying to get a set of DD vo's back there but will take a bit of modification to make them fit.

I recently purchased the RF lid kit and some MM692s. I plan to try both the RF and Polk speaks. I need a back up plan if I melt the Polks lol. I probably won't install until I return from the Sturgis Rally. I plan on taking a trip to Columbus soon after that.

I based my selection on an earlier post from Alex Haze and am very happy. Mmatts 6.5 in the fairing (a PA speaker on the warmer side), DD VO-B3 horns in the fairing, DD VO M6x9 in a set of Hogtunes lids. Factory Head Unit ( thinking off changing it out for the Sony AVX-5000), Arc Audio PSM, ArcMoto 600.4 amp pushing the 6.5s and 6x9s, and a small kenwood amp for the horns. You will need to take some time tuning. I have 2 separate tunes - 1 for bike not running and a separate tune for when the bike is running, as the factory head unit on the Rushmore models have built in different EQ settings for running and not running.

TG will you start a 6x9 review thread after evaluating the VO 6x9s? Ron D gave me a short review of what he has tried and I'd like your opinion as well.

So are you recommending the RF bag lid kit?

Yea be very careful with those polks and don't run them with ANYTHING less than 6" to them in the bags. I am having difficulties getting the vos to fit in the rf lid kit as the vos flage is very wide. I tried a set of 1/2" spacers and that wasn't enough. Gonna try 3/4 and 1" spacers to see if they will work. I did hook them up and the sounded damn good but after putting my milles back in I still have to say that IMHO, the hertz mpx 690.3 have the best sound and bass thump out of all the 6x9's I have tried.
