iPods And Music Quality

iPods And Music Quality
Just wondering if a new Ipod will improve the quality of my tunes ---- like a new head unit does. I'm all Ipod. No tunes on a phone. I have a 10 year old Ipod Touch with 600 + tunes on it, and running low on space! Probably gonna get a new one, but just curious about the music quality question. Also, any recommendations which one to get? All I want an Ipod for is to play music on the bike, and that's it. Don't need a camera, internet, etc. Just for tunes.

Mainly where you get better sound quality is from a higher bitrate file. Minimum that I use is 160, but 320 is better. The higher the better, but that makes a bigger file too so less music on the POD. I don’t think that an updated player will improve anything. I have 2 iPods, and 3 old iPhones I use and the sound quality is all the same when playing the same tunes on any of them.
I’m kinda ignorant, do they still make JUST an iPod anymore??

I don't know! I hope so. I'll soon find out!

Just to throw something in I read about a while ago, one article detailed the above average audio output circuitry of the older click wheel ipod video players. I have a couple and they do sound a tad bit warmer but the problem is they use Toshiba hard drives instead of flash memory and tend to lock up when they get bounced around. I won't say it's enough difference to fret over though.
That being said I am tinkering around with the idea of upgrading one to flash memory and seeing how that plays out. One company makes memory card adapters where you can plug in micro SD cards and use them for storage.
Since I can still play MP3 CDs on my pre-Rushmore bike though I haven't felt an overwhelming urge to tinker with the Ipods.

Thanks all. Turns out a new Ipod Touch is almost $200, and I'd have to get a camera, and bells & whistles whether I like them or not. I think I'll just delete some older tunes to make more space. By the way bad tappets, I had an accessories plug on my 2011 with the Harman Kardan head unit, but this one is a USB into the bike. 2016 Limited Ultra.
