Stock head unit. Currently running the Arc 600.4 AMP, powering 2 Arc 602s in the fairing (15 RGS) and a set of BT titan 2s in the lowers. Ive ordered lids from advanblack that takes 6x9s. Looking at a set of Polk MM692 to go in the lids. Planning to replace the BT speakers in the lowers with ......likely another set of Arc 602s. My installer tells me that we can run the front 4 speakers off half and the lid speakers off the rest of the amp. Will that be enough power to the speakers? Any other issues that you all can see?

ETA I did buy a set of the wdx 6.5s to replace the BT speakers in the lowers, but they wont work, The way the stupid grill is permanently attached to the tweeter sticks out way too far to fit under any other speaker covering. Another expensive lesson!

 

You're not going to be happy!!! That amp only puts out 150 watts regardless whether it's 4ohm or 2ohm. The 602's already need more power than your amp is giving them like it is. Your getting 150 now, and if you parallel them you're only going to get 75. Not a move I'd make.

 

 

You can remove those grills on the tweeters if it's done carefully.

 

The 602's need at least 150w to get where you want them. Trying to parallel 2 sets will leave you way short. You'll want a second amp or less speakers.

 

So if I was to run another amp, how do you suggest I wire the speakers? Could I even get another ARC 600.4 in the fairing? Or, should I go with another amp?

ETA- Or, will replacing the BT Titan 2 s in the lowers with another set of ARC 602s be better than going with lids and another amp?

ETA- Or would I be better off going with fairing and lid speakers only, getting rid of the lower speakers, and running the 600.4 amp?

So if you were to run the arc 600.4 amp, with 6.5s in the fairing, and lowers, with a set of 6x9s in lids, what speakers would you go with?
Like I said, I have those BT Titan 2s, a set of the WDX 6.5, and I do have an older set of POLK MM 6.5s stashed somewhere. I haven't bought the 6x9s yet.

 

You know, this is really and truly never ending.

 

The Arc 600/4 will be and issue running in parallel regardless of the speakers.
