2 ohm components, 4 ohm components on same 4 channel amp?
Can you hook a pair of 2 ohm 6.5 speakers to say the front 2 channels and a pair of 4 ohm speakers to the rear 2 channels ? Amp is the power acoustic rz4-2000d
I ran that way for a couple seasons with that same amp.
Kappa up front and pioneers in the bags. No issues. Just keep everything on its own channel.
Totally agree with Juice and Jack. A 4 channel amp is basically 2 little amps in one box. 1&2 is one amp and 3&4 is another. There is no cross talk between those 2 amps thus they are on their own regarding ohm, up to the point where u bridge them together.
Thanks fellas I kinda figured it would be ok but it never hurts to ask.. only downside will be less power to the speakers at 4 ohm but then again the front channel with the kappas only has the gain up 1/4 of the way
