Default Looking for advice...

Hey fellas, I am looking for advice on my build and I am hoping you could help me out. I have read posts from several audio guys and still have questions. So here’s what I have. 15 RG, XAV100 head unit, Hertz HCP4D running 3 channel to two Rockford 6x9s in the lids, the third channel is pushing two (in parallel) PRV 8MB450-8ohm in the bags.

A Kenwood KAC-3004 amp in the fairing running two JBL GTO-638 6.5s (2ohm) in the fairing and two PRV 6MB-250 NDY-4ohm in the lower fairings. I also have a Soundstream SM4.1000D available that I can install in place of the Kenwood, I don’t want to run 3 amps.

The Rockfords are good for what they are, an entry level speaker. I want to change those out and so one of my questions. What do you all recommend? I know guys are big on PRV, 6900, and MMats but I have never seen/heard thoughts on the PRV 6x9s.

Also, I think I can do better than the JBLs but I really don’t want to go with components up front. At least it’s not my first choice at this time. I have the PRV 6MBs. What can or should I replace the JBLs with?

What are your thoughts on the Kenwood amp? It dynos well in testing but I’d like your opinions. It was pushing the Rockford 6x9s pretty good but I don’t think it’s pushing the 6MB-250s to achieve full potential. I am not sure and would like input.

As is, it gets loud and plays good but it gets a little hazy at the higher volumes, around 35-37 (volume) depending on the song. It will make your ears rings if stay too close for too long at this volume.

thanks in adavance.

You are mixing and matching too many different types (and I don't mean brands) of speakers. This may not be what you want to hear, but I would start ditching items and replace the entire thing....otherwise you are just putting a band aid one location at a time. You could EASILY do that bike with two amps and have it slamming.

I am a big fan of PRV in the right setup, having said that I was underwhelmed by the 6x9's. The Polk's listed above are good, so are the DD's for bass, but don't have a lot of highs. As far as the amps I would suggest the soundstream bridged to the 8's, and if you only want to use 2 amps, I might try running the JBL's on the front channels of the HDP and use PRV 6MB's in the lowers AND the lids off the rear channel, they can get loud with less watts.

Since you have the 250's, I'd put four up front with a set of horns, in the lids DD 6X9 and in the bag and run two amps. Two Soundigital 800.4's would push that all day. Add a DSP and this would jam.

Ok, yeah I haven’t heard anyone talk about the PRV 6x9s, that must be the reason.
I’ll look into your recommendation but I think I may off a little due to ohms. I’ll see. Thanks

ok. I’ll look into these, I was leaning toward staying PRV up front. So ditch the Hertz amp huh? Dang, I thought that’s a good amp lol oh well. Thanks again for your time.
