Not a fan of the Kappas. If ur gonna spend $92 on those Speaks, hold off a bit and budget for higher tier speakers.

Just sayin!!!

Hard to beat kappa’s for what they cost in my opinion. There’s not a better budget speaker out there. Great speaker for a motorcycle setup

I don't see them on the biketronics website.

Yes sir. You will need 2 of those. Wait until tomorrow and call Donna at biketronics. Tell her you are a forum member to receive a discount. She has those rca cables also. Just ask how much they are and I will bet she will throw them in the same box as your line leveler so you don't pay extra shipping.

T. Just what don't you like about the kappas? I have never had a problem with them and they sound good to me for the $$.

Brother my ears just don't like them. My ears actually vomit when they hear them.
I had the 6.5s and the 6x9s and just no bueno. It's an entry level speaker and if that's what someone is looking for on a very tight budget then it will hopefully work for them. I would save just a little bit more cash for a bit and go to the next tier, cause that's where the vast majority of folks end up anyways.

On top of that, building a setup around a 2 ohm platform is basically a dead end as its a complete do-over when any future upgrades are considered.

So if a brother is gonna run Kappas and an amp that's only good with 2 ohm Speaks and without question stop there, then by al means it's indeed a step up from Boom.

You do have a point about being 2 ohm and trying to upgrading a 2 ohm setup is a beotch. Never seen ears vomit before. Not sure that would be a pretty site.

Another option-

http://dbdrive.net/product/wdx6moto/ $180-190

http://ddaudio.com/products/amplifiers/d-series/d4-60/ $180-190

http://www.biketronics.com/bt355-hd-...r-2014-and-up/ $85

https://www.bestbuy.com/site/metra-p...?skuId=6167201 $40

I just installed this set up in a friends 17 Street Glide. It rocks for a 2 speaker set up. Contact http://www.77customs.com/ for more info.

Don't want to hijack the thread but:
Would it be more suitable to purchase a 4 ohm amp just in case it is decided to do a (4) speaker system? And what difference is there in sound quality if you continue to use a (2) speaker setup?

Yes sir. No difference in Sound quality from 2 channel to 4 channel amp. Huge difference when adding 2 more speakers whether in lowers or lids. I personally like adding lids as you can run 6x9's that will give you more bass. Lowers will give you more up front but still 6.5 and no added bass with those.

Thanks traveligypsye for the input. The amount of information on improving the HD sound system is overwhelming and the cost can get out of hand. Just want to improve the sound on a budget.
