2008 Road Glide
I am simply window shopping at the present, if that is possible....
Looking to replace the stock H/K head unit with a unit that accepts a thumb drive.....on a budget so price is important.
I want to keep my handlebar controls....adding an amp is not a necessity/ not in budget now.
Any and all directions are greatly appreciated......
P.S. meant to add; plug and play would be very helpful

If you want plug and play Biketronics can help you out with that, or if you want to do some basic wiring you can check out Crutchfield.com to see what HU you like and what handlebar controls adapters will work. You can either purchase from them or google for a lower price. Also there are several bike shops that offer prewired systems that will plug and play. Do a quick FB search and you should find some.

Don’t let “plug and play” affect your decision. Buy a nice head unit from a reputable brand and a handlebar control module. Plug and play usually means less quality in my prior experience. If you can read instructions you can install anything you want . I have a Sony head unit and a guy i know installed an Aquatic AV unit. He wasn’t as happy as I am with his purchase.

I will literally work myself into becoming sick and 'tossing lunch' often, before removing the first bolt / screw.
I have a very close friend who will be helping me....he used to own / ride a RG and has dismantled it for
stereo upgrades to repainting whenever his mood wanted a different look or sound.
Thanks for another viable option to consider....
