Default Speakers for the lowers?

I believe I have locked in the following for my 2018 RGS
1) Fairing Speakers - Euphoria EPC 6K
2) 6X9 Lids - DB Drive 6x9

For the lowers I was thinking
1) DB Drive WDX6Moto's

However I have read a few threads on here about running a PA Style speaker in the lowers. What is everyone's experience with these versus a coax?

on my 2011 RGU I ran Alpine Type R's in the fairing and lowers but ran them on 2 channels off of an Alpine PDX F-6 so they only received around 75 watts each so they weren't impressive at all.

This time I believe I will be running them off of an Arc 600.4 with 150 watts to each. With the 6x9's off of either a Micro 4 Bridged or a B52

Any input is appreciated.
Thanks

if you have 2 channels dedicated to lowers i would run a PA 6.5" there. I love my PRV in that location
for 6x9 lids i would definitely bridge a 4ch micro as opposed to a b52...such as a JL 280/4 or similiar

Just my $.02

Yup. Yoop said it correct. A set of PA's in the lowers will compliment the sound from the front. A set of coax in the lowers may be over kill on the high end. Prvs or Hertz sv's.

I haven't tried the PRV's but only hear great things. I have a set of MMAT PA-601's in my lowers as well as a buddy of mine and they work really well. Just another option for you.

mmats will drop in to a lower pod, PRV need to be rounded out as they are square flange

Thanks to all for the input. I have a set of DD VO's left over my 2012 and I may try them out, however I have heard good things about all the brands recommended.

Those Hertz SV165s are a damn clean, clear and loud woof. Not real warm but in the lowers it might be what u r looking for.

I was going to recommend the VO 6.5 for your lowers...they have a wider frequency range then all the other speakers that were recommended! I put some in my lowers they are loud, clean and have great mid bass. Took a little work to get them to fit! Good luck!

I had some SP CM’s in my lowers. After multiple times of tuning and being underwhelmed, I pulled them today and put PRV’s in their place. It was pretty tedious to get them trimmed but well worth the effort. Total time from start to finish was around 2 hours, including tuning the system.

-Current set-up-
Sony 310BTx
Arc 600.4
PRV’s and B3’s in the upper
PRV’s in the lowers

This thing screams.
