Default Need some pro advice again on gains/clipping

so have the JlMX500/4 with ddaw's and AT28 tweets they sound great but still getting some clipping at very high volume I had set gains at 31.6 volts with all flat and motor on. The target voltage in the Jl manual says target voltage for bridged to 4 Ohm should be 31.6 After reading the sticky thread from Sly's chart, i should be at 44.7 v I did a small test run and didnt clip until almost full volume at 80. Question is which is right and can i hurt something with too much voltage

The JL setting is at 14.4v, your bike is not producing that even with the bike on so the amp won't produce that much output.

If I’m reading the chart right, 44.7v at 4ohm would be 500 watts. You want to be closer to 200. I run the amp on high pass 90 hz freq.

If it is clipping, the gains are too high. Just back off the gains a bit until the clipping light goes out. Just that simple. Don't worry about voltage.

Try 28.3 vac with bike running that should put you around 200w per channel which i think most guys are running that set up

What do you mean by “full volume at 80”? Do you have the avc turned on?
