Default Left front Focal 165 KRC is Dead Dead Dead

I've had them in my fairing for a couple years and have alays been very pleased with them. Over the weekend I noticed the left speaker was lacking everything except high notes. This evening I removed the outer fairing, removed the left speaker hooked it up to the right channel and still no mids. I removed the right speaker hooked it to the left channel and all is good. SO I am in the market for new front stage speakers UNLESS someone, for some reasson happens to have one 165 KRC K2 speaker laying on a shelf. In the back I have Pioneer 6x9 Pro's in the lids and DD VO M8's in the bags they are poweed by a TN 4.900D, the front is powered by a CV B52. Any recommendations for front speakers?

Those focal speakers do that. Don't know why. I've got two sets on my shelf right now in the same condition. Just quit for no apparent reason. I think one in the bunch might be good. You're welcome to check em out if you want to pay shipping.

You might want to try some "Marine grade" speakers that can hold up longer, the non treated speakers deteriorate faster.

Carlos there was no physical damage to the cone or any other part of the speaker for that matter nor did it have that "majic smoke escaped" odor. I have no idea why it failed, maybe I make more left turns than right turns which caused extra stress on that speaker.

What do you base your findings on? The majority of speakers ran in the fairings on these bikes are not marine grade. I've never ran a marine grade speaker and I've never had issues.

And i live in Arizona not much of a "marine rated" need in my part of the world.
