Every set of speakers and amp is different. Even 2 sets of the same speakers will require a different gain setting. Same goes with the amp. None are the same. The manufactures of amps make them to deliver power to a vast variety of set up including running 4 speakers off the 2 channel amp. In most cases gain will not go past 2/3 to 3/4 on the ****. Turn the gain down, don't use a volt meter, check your speaker wires and if all is set right, they will sound good even if only half gain on the ****.

Your still gonna need to rely on your ears to set it. Using the meter is just a starting point. It's not a definite setting.

No worries my brother, I'm not an expert by any means, We all had to start somewhere. Use your volt meter and get it close then tune by ear for optimum sound to you.

Set your gains the old school way. Turn gains all the way down, set treble and base to neutral, turn radio up to 3/4 volume and adjust gains until you hear distortion and back off a bit.
Also, run your ground to the battery. Not on the neck or triple tree.
+1

The thing with audio and making adjustments is that if you use a solely technical solution and lets say you do it 100% correctly and the music coming out of the radio sounds bad how do you make adjustments. In the end it will be by what you are listening to and not a math equation and number on a screen or red light on a device.

You need a 4 channel amp to bridge to 2 speakers.
The B52 will do good with either 2 or 4ohm speakers. I'd take a look at the DB Motos.
