Default Hogtunes

Friend is looking at this Hogtunes kit http://www.hogtunes.com/products/sel...4sg/combo1.php
for his 2014 SGS. I know kits are not preferred and I’ve tried to talk him out of it. Dollar wise what would be close that I could talk him into that would be better? Thanks

Could go with the favorite package of B52 amp, Biketronics LL and Infinity Kappas for less than the hogtunes.

Was just looking at the Hogtunes and saw this post. The only question I would have how much harder is installation without all the "plug and play" specs that come with Hogtunes?

A street glide with 2 speakers and an amp is not that difficult at all.

I just installed a two speaker system in my 14 Street Glide in about 6 hours and a lot of that time was modifying the stock amp tray to fit my amp and it was about 350 sounds great. PN1-1000d MM6502 and BT355

So here's the other thing you have to do for both "plug and play" and other systems:
-take fairing off
-remove stock speakers
-remove gas tank
-run power and ground to battery
-wire remote turn on
-install biketronics LL
-install amp bracket
-tune
-put everything back together

So if you want to spend less cash, spend a little more time and have a much better sounding system? Then don't go with the "plug and play" kits.

OK, just to make sure I have this correct. I have a 2014 HD Ultra Limited and I'm getting the following:

  • Set of 4 Infinity Kappa 62.11 6.5" Speakers
  • One Cerwin-Vega B52 Stealth Bomber Class D Amp
  • One BT355 HD Radio Line Leveler and Pre-Amp adapter for 2014 HD and up
  • Street/Classic/Road In -Fairing Rear Speaker Connector for 6.5 Navigation Touch Screen model.
Do I also need the front speaker connector. I'm assuming I do but want to confirm.

What else do I need wiring and hardware wise to do this install?

Thanks for the help!!
