Default Replacing 2001 Ultra Radio using newer unit ??

Hey Guys,

I recently rescued a 2001 Ultra Classic in need of much TLC. Can the OEM radio be easily replaced with a newer unit? Someone gave me a stock radio from I believe a 2007 Street Glide … part # 76160-06

Tour-pak from this 2001 will be removed, no need for CB or intercom. Simply looking for music to front speakers that I know will need replacement with proper OHM rating.

23 pin terminal connectors (one black & one grey) on the 2001 radio are the same size. The newer radio will accept one 23 pin connector, the other terminal requires a 35 pin connector.

Thanks ... pic of the bike attached. Chained to a utility pole for over a year.

im not be 100% certain , but im pretty sure the size is the same, while you have it apart, add a budget class D amp and some somd used speakers from the audio classified and call it good

Appears that dimensions will not be an issue.

Concerns are wiring and control.

Good recommendation on cheap upgrades, thanks

Well, this is a low budget build for putting around the beach, and I'm trying to keep it simple. Would love to use the free radio I was given.

Yup, agreed. But ignition switch is removed so front forks (air suspension) can be pulled / rebuilt. Inner fairing is off for rattle can painting. Then cam chain tensioners, brakes, etc. Unfortunately going to be awhile before I power her back up for a plug & play test.
