I took delivery of my new 2017 Street Gide passed Sunday ,I had the HD dealer install the upgrade boom II amp / speakers they sound great ,but as dealer salesman was going through the delivery of the bike we noticed that if the bIke is turned on as to start it all radio functions work great ( xm/pairing etc ) but if turned to accessory ,radio has no sound and unable to pair etc , is that normal ? Thx

 

Nope! Not normal. Take it back and tell em to fix it. You're still good under warranty.

I can tell you what they did wrong. They hooked the amp power on wire to the wrong connector. There are two under the fairing. Looking at the front of the bike with the fairing off, there is one in the lower right and one in the upper left. They connected the amp power on wire to the lower right. That is the wrong accessory power outlet. The upper left will give it power in accessory mode. Note, this is not the main power wire that runs to the battery. It's the purple and black accessory plug. If they take a DMM to both plugs, they will see only one of the two has power in accessory mode.
