Default Hertz hdp4 vs ss pn4.1000d

I found a smokin deal on an hdp4. I'm new to audio, and am curious how much better this amp is compared to the soundstream amp. Is it double the price better? I have a bad habit of buying things I don't need just because it's a good deal.

Huge fan of the HDP4. For me that thing has been damn solid. Ur gonna need the JM Amp tray or it won't fit so factor that into your budget.

Hertz is moving some of their amps off the display boards to make way for the new stuff. It's that time of year. So awesome deals can be had on amps like the HDP4. Maybe that's what you're looking at if not ask around your dealers they may have board models for cheap. Should be able to score one for $300-$325.

As for the amp comparison... the HDP4 is up at the top. No matter what your configuration in the coming months or years it'll be a constant you never gotta worry about.

If you got a killer deal don't sleep on it man. Pull the trigger.

Forgot to add... you'll have a much easier time flipping the HDP4 if you need the cash than the Soundscream. Its a safe investment imho

Thanks for the reply. That's right about the price.

Simple rule, if you find a proven component at a great price, buy it. You or someone else will use it. The HDP4 is for sure, a proven component.

I understand that. Ive seen great reviews on both items here. Obviously one for budget, and the other for that unicorn!! Just curious for the average audio guy who might not now yet what the "warmth" difference sounds like amp to amp. on a side note... with an amp tray this fits is 13 down batwing?

Need the amp tray with the 14 and up. You can squeeze it in there on the 13 and down bikes. I'd say the SS is a little warmer than the HDP4 but the HDP4 is louder with more clarity. Both awesome amps!
