mounting tweeters

Rather than use silicone, I flattened out the clip for the back of the tweet. This made the clip longer and the screw holds them nice and snug. One other small tip is I took a black sharpie to the wires on the tweeter. I didn't want to see the red wire thru the grills, and this seemed to do the trick. I used a 1 7/8" hole saw and it worked perfect. Put a layer of masking tape on the front so you can draw some lines to find the exact center. Clamp it down well, run the saw in reverse and go sloooowww.

Well started today on audio install. What fricking moron came up with those pod closures. How many bolts does it take to hold on a piece of plastic! Only got one side off. Work on the other side tomorrow. Quick question: I bought the hog-tune grills & cut center out for AT28 tweeters. Now do you take Harley original speaker grills off then use the hog-tune grills? Also does the speaker fabric go on the outside of the grills or inside?

Thank you. Will do that first thing tomorrow. Someone said that the jl audio amp fits on top of the radio on my 2017 street glide special. I did a dry run & i have navigation on the top of my radio. Not sure it fits all that well. Also can only go back so far before it hits the harness in back.

Hold the grill cloth on the face of the grill. Poke one small hole thru one screw hole with an all or exacto. Screw one screw thru grill hole then fabric. Do the same for the other holes pulling the fabric tight across the grill face. After all screws are into that fabric, mount the grill but pull it tight while tightening the screws into the inner fairing.
