Yea, you're right Joe. I didn't think about list price. I was going off of the 400.00 i gave for the Arc. I should at least find out actual price on the Focal.

 

With all of the action in this thread and group rates being thrown out there, I predict used Arc's JL's and Hertz amps being available soon..lol

 

Remains to be heard how these stack up against the Focal-designed stuff from an overall SQ perspective. If we're talking FPS4160 quality for that 700-800 dollar street price than they've got a winner for the high-end market.

As far as comments about copying the Arc's form factor, not sure there's many options if you're trying to make it fit.

I think this will be a winner in term of Focal quality but think the price point will shift a bit based on the supply and demand figures. Just a bit steep for the demographics.

Regarding the ARC copy, in business it's probably a damn good decision to copy a chassis that has proven to work well. An even better decision on the production side as it has already been developed. This amp is engineered by the best of the best however is produced in China thus various isolated design strategies can be easily replicated at much lower costs. I'm certain the Focal quality control measures are soundly in place regardless of where it is built so good on them for capitalizing on what elements have proven to work for us end users.
