Default Removing BT 7.1's

I am thinking of pulling my Titan 7.1s out of my fairing to install in a new bike but when I pulled my stock pods out of storage, no hardware. Before I remove the fairing and begin, did the Titans use the stock hardware or did I lose the bolts, etc? Going from a 2016 SGS to a 2016 Limited Low so I also need to figure out if I can use the 6.5's from the lowers and install in the rear pods on the new bike. Thanks.

Go to BT's page. At the bottom under support there is install instructions for everything they sell. Should be able to see what stock hardware was used. Its been so long, I dont remember what I used either.

Almost every speaker for the Rushmore TP pods will require some sort of spacer, anything from a $7 metra half inch spacer to an expensive vtwin audio pod spacer kit. The depth and mostly width of the magnets are your limitations in the pod. I’ve not tried a 7.1 in the pod but an AD Design CX62 has one of the smallest rear footprints for an aftermarket 6.5 and that speaker needs a spacer. In short, plan on using a spacer if you’re putting any speaker back there.
As for your fairing speakers, you must have the BT Brackets in there to eliminate the pods. They mount with some of the same hardware but theres at least 7 bolts that hold that pod together and in place, three of which are a serious pain to get at. That said, those brackets are mandatory for almost every speaker installation in a Rushmore batwing and they ain’t cheap! If you have the chance to keep your brackets and put the pods back in I would definitely do it. As far as retrieving the 7.1 speakers themselves, they wouldn’t be my first choice of a speaker but those brackets are vital and since you’ve already got them, no harm in getting them out and returning the SG with stock speakers.
