Default Which Saddlebag Lid to use??

ok folks,
trying to get info/opinions on who's lids to use when i add 6x9's to my flhtcui. i've seen everything from harley to metra, but as i dont have any experience with the aftermarket offerings, i was hoping to get some guidance. i spent about 45 minutes shifting through the entries on the search engine, but more was discussed about speaker application, than about the fit, finish and overall quality of the lid part in and of it's-self. please let me know, so that i can get the best part that i can afford, thanks.

The bike year is a big factor. I know 13 down matazu cvo style lids work well. 14+ is a bit different due to the different latch mechanism. If possible you want a lid that does not require a 5x7 to 6x9 adapter. Give some bike info and more advice can be given.

now that i'm a little more awake,,,as far as riding in the rain goes.....
i live and ride in south Florida so rain is pretty much unavoidable,,,while i dont purposely start out in the rain, i do get caught in it sometimes...i was thinking of using a lightweight, scotchguard type treated fabric between the grill and the speaker to add some protection there.

Budget run Matazu cvo lids, no budget hog tunes lids. Definitely need a barrier there if you are concerned with the rain. Always wise to add a treatment to tue speaker as well.

JT!!! Where the heck were you when we had a huge discussion about this in Milwaukee???? Oh, I remember, it was nap time..... Slye is 100% on with what all the other guys talked about. Also everyone was worried about it affecting the actual speaker, but I guess it doesn't hurt if done with care. Someone else will chime in with application details.
