That's a great combo there! And you don't need that much juice for the Mmats.

The vo will likely drown the rest out. They sound really good but need more presence up front if I was doing it. Consider mmats 601 and a b3 horn over the mid/tweet or stick with a 6x9 that has more highs and less overpowering.

So let me chime in. Lol. I just switched out all my hertz speakers. Mpk165p3 components and hcx690 6x9's. All this off hertz hdp4. 150 watts RMS. Clean power. Now I have mmats 601, b3 horns and vo6x9 in lids. Ill
tell you that it's more than 2x louder than my hertz system and it screams and has great punch. Warm sound and did I mention it's holy **** loud, clear and punch.

I went to a local shop and they had hertz sv 6.5s with the 200L in the bags and my god was it loud and clear. Loud to the point where full volume you will drown out anything. It was pretty insane. I'll be moving towards that setup. Installer said he had run about every setup possible and hertz was what he only recommended.

My only issue is that looking to 8" lids for the new bag style is impossible. I'll be making my own lids.

Pete at DA Performance also said that yes the MPK series simply weren't loud enough so that whats stearing me away from my original build.

I'll still have to look around at others. The setups he had were extremely convincing. I would like to hear the MMATS and VO6X9 combo.

Would totally agree. Imho, they key is to find the sound quality of the higher end Hertz like the MLK 165 or 1650 but a ton more efficient or loud.

The Mmats are a competition grade speaker (SPL) thus not build around the low mid bass freqs however is does seem to deliver better on the low end than most other SPL speakers, especially that Hertz 165 SV which is just damn harsh.

Go see Babyboy!!! He totally gets the target sound quality u are looking for.
