Bass "stuck" on full
Hey folks, leaving tomorrow for a week-long road trip and my radio is acting up.
With the volume low, it sounds a little tinny and as I increase the volume, somewhere near the half-way point it, I'll bump the volume one more tick and the volume suddenly increases substantially and the bass kicks in, almost like turning on Loudness on other radios. There's doesn't seem to be anything random about it; it happens at the same volume level - within a tick or two - every time.
Also, I can't adjust the bass at all: The display indicates the bass is full-on, and I'm not able to lower it.
I know it's a long shot that I'll be able to solve this before I go, but who knows... any body else experienc this or know the cause?

As Gannicus stated we also need to know the rest of the audio components...stock or otherwise.

The sounds system is bone stock.
I'm thinking this thing is probably toast, and if that means repair / replace then I'll replace it with something more modern. Are there a few go-to configurations that people upgrade to? I'm not concerned about mad, bumpin' power, just a quality, reliable system with modern features like Bluetooth capability. It'd be nice to have a GPS display, but its a single DIN (I think that's the right lingo?) system so I doubt there's any way to do that. Probably better asked in a separate post, after searching for the answer here?
