Default 4 Ohm vs 8 Ohm Speakers

Thinks it's probably time we address the elephant that has entered the room, the 8 Ohm speaker on a sled.
Why the hell would u want an 8 Ohm speaker on a sled with minimal space for amps, thus very strategic power applications and limited channels to push the 8 ohms? Is it availability? Better sounding at 80 mph? It's cool? Better SQ? More efficient? It's cool?

Get the popcorn!!!

No elephant, its simple.

4 /4ohm speakers connected will give you a 1ohm load, most stereo digital amps will let the magic smoke out.

4/8ohm speakers connected will give you 2ohms...your amp will like you.

I'm reading this and can't help but feel partially responsible for this thread being started.

If you can't figure out after this long why and how to make it work, why even ask?

Now add class d amps, sleds, efficiency, etc... Is 8 ohm the best pick?

I guess people are not allowed to ask questions that they don't know the answers to. I guess when we hit a certain age we should be content knowing why we already know and not look to learn anything new.

Ohms law stays the same no matter the environment. (12v)
Most fidelity, cleanliness and reliability of a stereo amp is at 4ohms.
