Default Metra BT-HD01 Bluetooth Audio Interface

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...9SIA34A4U59786

I have been thinking about this upgrade on a 2013 Street Glide and was wondering if anyone had any experience with this product. At $250 I wasn't all that interested, but now that the price has dropped to $170 it seems like a good option.

Install looks simple and claims to seamlessly add Bluetooth connectivity to the HK radio.

Any experience or thoughts?

On my 07 radio I bought a Bluetooth adapter for 30 bucks that plugged into the 3.5mm jack on the front of the radio. Worked very well

no experience, but probably works fine. But for that $$, you should replace the HK unit with an aftermarket head unit. Better sound, more options, for not much more than that BT adapter.

Just a thought...

I have considered that - I just haven't been sold on the looks of any of the after market radios. They always look like they should be installed in a rusted out Toyota Celica with a trash can exhaust!

The HK is a decent radio, but wasn't state of the art even when the bike was new. I think I will give this a try.

I have just installed one of these units, it works well with Iphone. But will not work with Tom Tom 400 GPS. I bought it hoping it would work with GPS. Very disappointed will be sending it back.

Sorry for the hijack...bought a patch cord with a 1/8 plug on it, stripped one end, popped the back off of my GPS and soldered the wires to the speaker terminals. Plugged it into the aux port on my HK head unit and voila, i can now hear the directions through my system. Only downside is no tunes while switched to aux.

How do you keep GPS water proof now?

Didn't buy a waterproof GPS (is there such a thing?), just used a regular automotive one. Drilled a small hole at the bottom of the plastic case beside the charging port, threaded the cable through, dab of black silicone to seal it, snapped the back cover on.
