Default Help! Harley dealer says no aftermarket speakers!

Hi all -
I hope I'm not sounding naive but my local Harley dealer in Ohio says they just did an update to their radios and now only Boom! products can be used. No aftermarket will work he says! What say the experts on this?

They would have to have some kind of digital coding that is used to enable their speakers, in the speaker, This is unlikely, and would immediately result in legal action by aftermarket companies. This would be clear violation of statues regarding open competition.

Therefore, I call BS!

What he mean is they can't "flash" a bike for aftermarket amps like they used to. They can only perfrom these flashes for Boom units. There are plenty of workaround, the easiest being a Biketronics Line Leveler for about 80.00, with this plug and play item you can install just about any amp and get some good sound. What are you trying to upgrade?

I'm using Hertz Mille Pro's with a JL 400/4 amp as recommended by Gannicus. Fairing speakers only. Any info provided is really appreciated, Gannicus has been tremendously helpful!

Get a BT line leveler, that should do it!

Are you bridging the amp to the Mille's?
