Default Arc psm and noise floor is too loud

Ended up taking out the psm for my road trip. Now that I'm home I want to give it another go.

However, the noise floor is too loud and if I can't fix that, it's going away. It;s about as loud as 1 click up on the volume.

What are some tricks of the trade?

Didn't have any affect whether I turned them up or down. It was still there.
It only went away after I pulled the power to the psm.

I've experienced the same thing. The master volume is the only thing I've found that has any impact on that noise. I've got mine set at -22.65 I believe. I can still hear it but it's not like there's static coming through the speakers like I'm trying to listen to an AM station out of Russia. I've become used to it and the only time I really hear that noise is if the speakers are turned all the way down. Once it turns up a few clicks it just vanishes to my ears. So my solution was to go after minimizing the noise floor as best I could then get used to it and ignore it and mostly remember that I didn't put all this into my bike to have the volume turned down so I crank that shix up and jam and that noise floor instantly vanishes!!!

I'll mess around and see what I can do.

So I had issues too, they went away when I switched to the high level harness with the load resistors built in. Night and Day difference.

I was running -9 master volume, 2 volt sensitivity and about half way on my gains (didn't get a chance to test it with gains at the clipping point before I pulled it all to trade in the bike)

I'll have to look into that option too.
Where did you find the harness? Is it this one? http://www.arcaudio.com/p/harley-har...-harness?pp=24

it came in the box

2 RCAS harness's and the single high level (with the plugs for the 600.4) harness. If you look at that harness you can see it has something wired into it. I missed it the first time.

I was using the RCAs, found the other harness.
I see what you mean, there's something under the heat shrink.
