To me they look like the perfect starting point for knowing where to cut out a hole for the tweeters.

 

Pdevore has those grilled and AT28 tweets in that location. Search for his threads from probably 2 months ago.

I have those and modified them to fit the AT28's. It took about 20 mins each with a dremel tool with a barrel grinder. I will also say that I do not have anything holding them in place except the friction of a tight fit.

They worked out great for me
