I have to keep my bike stock looking so I have tried many options...

YES, YES, YES, get the BT line leveler. Period.

1) Hertz HE coax... blah...
b)tried to cut and port pods... blah... and pain in the ***
c) got BT brackets... still blah.. but a little better
2) Hertz Mille Coax... *BT brakets... still kinda blah but a little better. Very hot highs... little mid bass
3) Rockford TMS 65... decent... Hertz better. Can't handle the power. Surprised very clean/clear highs and mid bass... but again, can't take the volume. Get muddy real quick. Plus.. water resistant...
4) Kappas... boo... ok for cheap speaker... but as I read in your post... you are not looking for cheap/average
5) for kicks (again, I have to stay stock looking) I put in the DD AW6.5. GREAT speaker... about 20% better all around than the Hertz Mille. The Mille may have 5% hotter highs, but the DD out muscled the mid bass. VERY clear.

Amp... (2) JL 280 bridged (because I had them already and they fit in the wing). Will be upgrading to the ARC Moto soon.

I am at Medinah almost every Tuesday if you want to swing through for a listen. This Sunday is the Ride Jane Ride as well that I will be escorting.

Thanks Rik E Ric for the info and the invite. I will PM you for some specifics on where to meet up with you for a listen. I am going to the Savannah meet and greet in June to see all sorts of different options.

I really appreciate everybody's info and reaching out. Good stuff!

I think I'll just turn my radio off when I get to the steel bridge. I won't be needing it, by the sound of it.

Long over-due update...

I ended up going with all Biketronics equipment and am very happy.
The BT2250 amp and the Pro Series 7.1 component speakers.
Everything went in nice and easy and it was plug and play as billed.
It did need some tweeking which Mike from Biketronics was all to happy to help me with. Now that it's dialed in, I'm very happy and looking forward to the Savannah meet to see if others agree with me.

Thanks again for all the input from everybody especially Baby Boy for having me over to hear his and Moto Mike's systems which are both very impressive. I also want to thank Wide Glide for inviting me over to see and hear his install. Turns out we are brothers from different Mothers and have a lot in common.
See most of you in Savannah!
