I was debating this exact same thing and everyone I spoke to (that I care to trust) said that I needed a larger hole. So I decided to go with the American hard bag set up and I am very happy I did. You pay for it but it's a great setup.

As long as you can follow the circle. They are hard to control.
I just did mine the other day with a mini router and a home made circular jig (piece of wood) clamped to the bag. Easy to do but a little apprehension as these are my new custom painted stretched bags.

I don't see why not. I only used a router (had to buy it) cause i saw more use for it around the house. I almost bought one of these for my dremel
