Thought I knew what audio system (j&m Extreme ) I wanted in my RGS but the more I read the more lost I am .. so now thinking it's needs the 602 everything I read about them is good ..not decided on the amp yet .. but with the $$$$ I spent on the stage 1 .. I was thinking the budget for the month looks like the 602 and gives me a bit to pick an amp next month .. so the question is could I go head and in stall the 602s with out the amp ? Would it b better than the stock unit???
No Sir!! If there is any speaker on this forum that needs an amp. It's the Moto 602's. They are power hungry beast that need at least 200 watts for optimal performance. What year RGS? That will determine what you need to purchase. If you are just running a two speaker system the JL MHX 280/4 is the amp you want to run with those speakers.
It's a 2017 and I'm just going with the two faring speakers ..
BT line levers, 8 gauge power and ground. Stinger RCA's (1'.5") The JL amp and the Moto's will put you in two speaker heaven!! You will also need a 40-60 amp barrel fuse on your power wire.

I just finished installing this exact setup in my 2017 FLTRX. In the garage it sounds great, but winter is still hanging on here in Minnesota, so it might be a couple of weeks before I hear it on the road.
I did have to trim a gusset in my speaker enclosures and remove the rubber bumper around the magnet to allow the speakers to fit.
I have a pair of the 602s on the way to replace the BT Titan IIs on my 15 RGS. But I'm also adding lower fairing speakers, and replacing the BT 2180 2 channel amp with the Soundstream PN4.1000D.
