We need a "STICKY" for setting gains!!!
I'm not sure where the "sticky" for setting amp gains went (lost in Cyberspace?), although I know that it was getting large and off-subject at times.
I've been helping a forum member in Tennessee with his new audio system from Texas. In the process, I evidently gave him bad information for setting the gains on his 2014 6.5 Boom Box: Using a test tone with his phone instead of a USB stick. My information was based on information that I'd received from numerous forum members to set-up my own system.
In order to help eliminate such misinformation, I'd like to challenge one of you smart guys to offer-up a new version of the "Setting Gains with a Digital Multi Meter" that, once it's published, can be "locked-down" by our favorite Moderator for all eternity.
It should be written in very simple terms, for the electronically challenged, and include use of a CD and/or USB stick (depending on the head unit). Visual aids (pictures, sketches, videos, artist renderings, etc.) would also be very helpful.
Who's up to the task?

I'd like to see it include your chart, the JL Audio gain setting video, a link to the best test tones for our applications, a step-by-step "how to" regarding what settings to make on the head unit prior to running the test tones, etc.
As I said earlier, once the information is compiled, the thread needs to be "locked", so it doesn't go off-subject for 40 pages, like the previous Sticky.

I try my best.
