Default Good pics of Vtwin 6x9 adapters?

Just what the title says, any good pictures of install? The instructions are a tiny bit vague, and pictures grainy. I've not started install yet, but wanted a better idea.

Ok, I have started, and have a question, with a video for help in understanding,
I know I have more clean up to do, only one lid so far. What did you all use to do final clean,, sand paper?

i can't remember 100%, but i dont think that part is hollow and you should be good. Just make sure the whole area is flush from where younhad to cut oit the basket. I used a dremel with a small sanding barrel.

Thanks Matt, does anyone remember 100%?I just want to know what to expect when I get down to that,, also what did you do the final smoothing out with? I have clear silicone to put down. One other thing, I noticed on the adapters when they are together, there was one little spot, maybe an 1/8" that had a gap between the top and bottom sections. It was like a half moon, or crescent moon shape? I can take a picture of the other adapter tonight to show if no one remembers. I'm not sure how that will play out, but will it leak?

I used a very worn cut off wheel to get in that spot. It was small enough to remove most of that without going into the side of the lid. then cleaned up with an angle die grinder with a small sanding disk. You will have a small lip there once you clean that spot up.

Jim, is this what you are talking about bottom right corner? Once you silicone the piec to the lid,I dont think water can get to it.

Just ordered these adapters today to install the 6900's….
BUT am I correct in that you have to grind the stock speaker cutouts larger?
I'm working with '13 lids if it makes a difference.

IF you have to grind away the cutouts, and drill out the mounting holes, I'll pass. If I f up a lid, I'm screwed to the tune of hundreds of dollars, as HD doesn't sell CVO paint, have to pay someone to colour match…

Not only that, but when I go to sell the bike in the future, I have to give away all my good speakers etc and buy them again? I'll pass on this option, if so… Always a good chance I've had too many beers tonight and am discombobulated

You don't have to cut your speaker holes any bigger. The adapters mount underneath and the factory holes although smaller are plenty large enough for the sound to pass through. You won't do any drilling near your paint and if you want to bolt a cheaper 6x9 in when you sell it that's up to you (The 6900's shouldn't be very expensive). The only grinding is done underneath the lid and only if you have a factory basket. (I don't know if the 13 & downs do or not). It's very simple and it would be really hard to screw up. I think you'll be fine my man. The difference in sound is well worth the effort!

Yes, you don't make the hole larger, just remove the basket protection HD put in. Take a look at my video if you haven't already, it's partly done, I'll post more later when I finish the install tonight or tomorrow...
