Are you installing them off center or centered?
Best way to cut into the mesh without destroying it?

I was thinking of just using dikes to cut out the holes.
Didn't know if there was a trick to not destroying them.

Perfect!!! Just get a scrap of wood that is at least the size of the screw holes on the grill and lightly secure it to the wood face down with some short drywall screws. Then with a drill hole bit and pilot bit just center drill the hole.

Take ur tweets to Home Depot or Lowes and get the perfect sized bit. 1 7/8 or 2" is the more common size. Milwaukee bits.

Use a little silicone to hold the tweet in place.

SgtMic, if you can would you mind taking some pics of the process. I've seen pics of the finished product but would be nice to see how its done.

T - Dumb question. BT 7.1 Pros have a small tweeter bracket that mounts the tweeter to the BT brackets behind the grilles. Would that work for the DD AT28 tweeters?

Have not tried it so not gonna be able to answer that one but maybe one of our brothas will be able to shed some light on that. Good strategy though.

I don't know the answer either but I hope it's yes. Good idea.

Already have a hole saw kit and silicone.

Here's a jig I made up out of two pieces of plywood to hold the grill in place and guide the hole saw. This will work with the Hogtunes Grills and the HD Boom steel mesh grills.

Cut two pieces of plywood.
One piece of plywood will have a 5 ½" hole to fit the Hogtunes grill.
Screw the two pieces of plywood together.
Find the center inside the 5 ½" hole using a compass and drill a small pilot hole.
Use a hole saw the size of the tweeter or a little less.
This hole will guide the hole saw.
Use screws to hold the grill in place.
Clam the jig down and your ready to drill.
A Dremel type tool can be used to enlarge the hole in the grill if needed.
