A few years ago, I went with a discontinued Sony DSX s100, mainly because I'm all Ipod, and it had a tunetray where I could put the Ipod right inside it. (No more RAM Mount on the handlebar!) For $79.99, I was really pleased with how much better the quality was. They're discontinued, but you can still find them out there. Just an idea if everything else is hundreds of $.
