Rockford Fosgate TMS65
Anyone have any experience with these? Apparently they are a relatively new product and are plug and play compatible speakers for Rushmore and M8 touring bikes. I'm interested in just installing the 2 speakers with the stock BOOM Audio system. I'm looking for clarity and audio quality, not ridiculous volume. I'm just wondering if anyone has used the speakers without an amp and had positive results.

Just installed the KIT this weekend , I haven't tried them without the amp sadly. Obviously they would be an upgrade from the stock HD speakers, but not sure what speaker would be without an amp pushing it.

It won't cause any damage...but it won't sound any better either and actually won't have as much volume as the stock speakers. If the factory radio is outputting only 25w at 2 ohm, it's going to be outputting even less than that to a 4 ohm speaker, more like 15w or so. There's no way around it, you'll need an amp to get any kind of improvement.

Just installed these on my 2014 Ultra CVO. Perfect.
Easy to install, plug and play.
I had Boom Stage II. Absolutely sucked, sounded like a puddle of mud. Any bass was horrible. Passengers could not hear any quality at all.
I do not beat my stuff up in any way. The stereo had rarely been above 1/2 volume and never above 3/4. The Boom system is a massive disappointment from my personal experience.
These speakers however are kick ***. Great clarity and at 1/2 volume they are night and day to Boom. Because of CVO Stage II,I did have the 300 watt amp in place already (75 per side). It was all plug and play. I was told by many in over a month research that 2014 CVO owners were screwed with Harley proprietary Infomation Center and amp because the amp controls the system. These speakers work with the amp so there is no messing with it necessary. I was quoted from various bike/audio companies anywhere from $1,200.00 to $2,200.00 to fix or replace the Boom system. $550.00 (4 speakers)did it with a great deal from my local Rockford Fosgate dealer.
